New: Alexander Christening Outfit for Boys

We just added a new outfit to our boy’s line–the Alexander! I love the simplicity of this classic design! It is made from a lightweight cotton broadcloth material, so this romper is super soft and comfy. The vest is a separate piece that has a waffle-weave texture to the fabric, giving the outfit an over-all masculine look. The Alexander also comes with a matching cotton hat and cute satin bowtie. Long sleeves and legs make this a great choice for springtime-since it’s still a little chilly.

New Product Line: Baby Gear | Accessories

Today’s the day we announce a brand-new product category at One Small Child! We’ve had these treats in the works for a while now, and have thrown out a sneak peek here and there (are you following us on Facebook and Instagram?). We’ve been gathering every-day necessities for baby girls and baby boys from the best sources, and are really excited to offer them on our site!

Baby gear gets better every year, and these yummy blankets from Aiden + Anais are called Dream Blankets for a reason! Super soft and airy layers of fabric are piled together to create the ultimate blanket. They get softer with every wash. Perfection. New: Lace Christening, Blessing Headbands

We’re downright excited to introduce two new baby headbands! Each comes in three different colors: white is lovely with our Lillian Christening Gown, ivory is perfect with our Memory Lace Christening Gown, and pink is to-die-for gorgeous with our Caryssa Christening Gown.

First up is our Lace Rosette Headband: a soft, stretchy lace band featuring a hand-made lace flower backed with sweet gathers of lace and a touch of curly ostrich feathers, then sprinkled with a few freshwater pearls. The entire headband is hand-sewn (no heavy, bulky hot glue here), which makes it super lightweight and comfortable to wear.

Next in line is our Lace Bow Headband: a delightful confection featuring a triple-layered lace bow, curly ostrich feathers, and a gorgeous sparkly center. Also hand-sewn, it’s comfortable to wear, and is guaranteed to be a seriously versatile wardrobe piece!

New at One Small Child: Lucas Knit Christening Outfits for Boys

Temperatures are dropping like frozen balloons lately, so if you’ve got a christening or blessing coming up in the next several weeks, you might want to look for something warm as well as adorable. Fortunately, we’ve got the perfect style: our new Lucas Christening Outfit is a wonderful option for cold-weather events!

Ultra-soft combed cotton rib knit makes up the main element of this comfortable style, which is dressed up by the addition of a glossy braid trim. The 3-piece Lucas outfit comes with a short-sleeved, long-legged romper, matching long-sleeved jacket and CUTE visor hat. The matching blanket and shoes are sold separately. All items are proudly made in our local workshop, right here in the USA.

You’ve seen a sneak peek of our newest frock, now it’s time to get a good look at our darling new Tallie christening dress: a luxurious silk slip topped by a delicate netting dress featuring dainty embroidery, a luxurious silk ribbon sash, and a sweet hand-made flower at the waist. Feeling Nostalgic: Mother and Baby Christening Necklace Gift Set {Discontinued}

I’m working on uploading several new items to the site this week, and find myself feeling particularly nostalgic about this one.

Maybe it’s that my own children are growing up (ages 6, 8, 11)…and that I read this post yesterday, which reminded me that they are no longer babies.

Maybe it’s that I had the chance to snuggle this little model last night, and cannot help but feel a tug at my heart whenever I raise a tiny curled-up newborn to my shoulder.

Maybe it’s that I can literally see the closeness between this sweet boy and his lovely Mama in the photos I’ve been editing.

At any rate, it has me thinking a lot about the bond that grows between a precious child and the important women in his/her life. I love this gorgeous pearl cross necklace set as a symbol of that bond…a poignant token of the connection between a mother/godmother/grandmother and a beloved child.
